Lucknow: The district malaria officer of Unnao, Ramesh Chandra Yadav, was caught red-handed by the vigilance establishment while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Monday. A biologist in the filariasis control unit of Unnao, KK Gupta, filed a written complaint against Yadav, alleging that he demanded the bribe in exchange for approving medical leave. Following the complaint, Yadav was confirmed to be soliciting the bribe. He accepted the money at the district malaria office and was promptly apprehended by the vigilance team. The cash was recovered, and a case has been registered against Yadav at the UP vigilance station in Lucknow.
